Editorial and corrections policy
The standards used for calculations, source-backed guides, product pages, testing claims and community submissions.
Original purpose and scope
SlushWise publishes practical information for frozen-drink machine owners. Every page should help a visitor make a specific decision: interpret a nutrition label, calculate a machine-minimum correction, understand the freezing process, diagnose an ordinary recipe symptom or care for the machine. We do not publish rewritten news, mass-generated product pages or claims based only on popularity.
Source hierarchy
Machine limits, programme names and safety instructions are checked against the manufacturer’s UK product information or support material wherever possible. General food science is linked to established educational or government references. Product nutrition may be taken from the current physical label, the manufacturer or Open Food Facts, with the source shown on the page. A visitor’s current bottle and exact model guide take priority because products and regional instructions change.
Calculations versus tests
A calculation is not a product test. “Calculated” means the published machine threshold was applied to the entered sugar concentration and volume. “SlushWise tested” is reserved for a batch actually made and recorded by SlushWise. A scaled version of a tested batch is labelled as mathematical scaling because changing volume can also change processing time and texture.
Product verification
A product page identifies the complete variant, market, sugar value, source and check date. Pages awaiting an adequate nutrition check say so rather than presenting an unverified value as settled fact. Search results are always accompanied by a bottle-label reminder. When a formulation changes, the current value, check date and affected guidance should be updated together.
Community material
Submissions are private and pending by default. A moderator checks that required fields are complete and that the content is suitable before publication. Approval means the submission passed moderation; it does not mean SlushWise reproduced the test. Private contact details and administrator notes are excluded from public recipe pages.
Corrections and updates
Readers can report an incorrect drink from its guide or use the drink correction form. Reports are compared with a current label or suitable source before publication. Material changes update the visible review date. Pages retain clear uncertainty where evidence is incomplete instead of inventing precision.
Commercial independence
Advertising and affiliate links may fund the service, but they do not determine calculator output, verification status or whether a product is recommended. Advertisements are labelled and kept separate from controls and navigation. SlushWise is not affiliated with or endorsed by SharkNinja.
Safety boundary
Online ingredient guidance cannot diagnose electrical, refrigeration or mechanical faults. SlushWise directs visitors to official support for leaks into the base, electrical smells, damaged cables, repeated motor faults and other abnormal machine behaviour.
