Controls differ between models. The Original FS300/FS301 communicates mainly through light patterns; newer models may show a written prompt. If your pattern is not listed, use the owner guide supplied with your exact model.
Do not diagnose from a single flashing light. Direction, which bank flashes, beeps and whether the auger turns all matter.
Progress indicators while the auger turns usually mean the machine is cooling the mixture. Starting temperature, ingredients and volume all affect processing time.
A low-sugar warning needs a measured correction, not a guess. Diet sweeteners do not equal the “of which sugars” value used by the calculator.
Sugar and alcohol both lower freezing point. A very concentrated or spiked batch can remain too soft even though the machine is cold.
The machine may not recognise a vessel or component that is not fully seated. Do not force a latch or operate it partly assembled.
A stopped auger or repeated fault can indicate an obstruction, incorrect assembly or a machine issue.
A large warm batch takes longer. Excess sugar or alcohol can also keep it liquid, so adding more sugar can make this symptom worse.
Online ingredient advice cannot diagnose an electrical, refrigeration or mechanical fault.
“The lights are flashing” is not enough to identify a cause. Watch one complete sequence and record which group illuminates, the direction of movement, the beep pattern, whether the auger turns and what the batch contains.
Ingredient prompts and machine faults need different responses. A measured sugar correction can solve a low-sugar batch, but it cannot repair a stalled motor. Equally, repeated power-cycling will not correct a mixture whose sugar or alcohol concentration sits outside the range described by its model guide.
A flashing pattern can be normal progress, an ingredient prompt, an assembly warning or a fault. Match the complete pattern rather than assuming every flash means low sugar.
It commonly means the mixture is not freezing in the expected range. Check the exact drink label and use a measured correction rather than adding sugar blindly.
For a spiked or concentrated mixture, the finished sugar or alcohol load may be keeping the freezing point too low. Follow the model guide and measure any dilution.
On the Original FS300 and FS301, moving or pulsing temperature indicators during processing can be normal. Wait for the completion signal unless another distinct warning pattern appears.
Stop using the machine for a repeated motor or unit fault, leaking into the base, electrical smell, damaged cable or unusual mechanical noise that remains after correct assembly.
